Have you read any Peter DeVries? He's a grad of Calvin who went on to write for The New Yorker. My favorite book The Blood of the Lamb. Madder Music is also great. His best known comment in Reformed circles was one he made as a writer for the Calvin newspaper when he described the board of trustees as "the finest group of Pharisees ever to circumnavigate a donut."
