Could it also be because the boom has, for some, replaced the blue (the color of loyalty)?

It's a shame we (in general--dunno about PCA, as I'm not one) seldom sing all the verses to hymns anymore. Some of my favorite pieces of poetry about America are the later verses of "America the Beautiful" and the last verse of "The Star-Spangled Banner." And did you know Sousa wrote lyrics to "Stars and Stripes Forever"?
